We often need to describe trends in business and the
economy when speaking English. The following words and expressions are all
commonly used.

plummet (dramatic rise or fall)
"House prices rocketed in the South East last year."
"The Euro plummeted against the US Dollar, then rose
to soar (fly
high, like an eagle!)
"Soaring house prices make it difficult for first-time buyers to buy a
house."
to drop
"Increased labour costs have caused profits to drop
to level out
(become stable) تبقى

"Share prices have levelled out this month at 497p
to recover
(improve after a bad period) تنتعش
"The Euro has recovered after last week's heavy trading."
to stagnate
(staying at a low point, and not moving at all. This is a negative word)
